Kid Cudi Shows Acting Chops In 'how To Make It In America'

Kid Cudi is set to make his acting debut in the new HBO series How to Make It In America, premiering this weekend. The show focuses on Ben Epstein and Cam Calderon, played by Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk, who try to make it in New York by launching their own fashion line. The rapper, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, plays their friend Domingo Dean -- a character name based on his two older brothers.

"The fact that everybody is finally getting to see me act and stuff is part of my dream coming true," Cudi told MTV.com. "It's just really dope, and people could see me be silly. My album was so deep and serious, and that was just me showing my dark side. Acting is therapeutic -- just being able to pretend to be somebody else for a little bit, it's dope."

How To Make It In America premieres Sunday, February 14th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
